What is your coolest Crocodilian collectible?

Bryan OKC Oct 23, 2005 06:49 PM

I know Bill has an extensive collection, and I'm guessing some other folks on this board do too.

Some of my favorites are:

Chinese Alligator postage stamps

Antique silver spoons

My personalized truck license plate "G8R"

A chainsaw carved cypress log alligator

But I think the coolest are two of my pinball machines, "Gator" and "Nip-It". If you ever watched "Happy Days" there was a "Nip-It" in the malt shop on the series--an interesting anachronism, since the show was set in the 1950s and the machine was built in 1973.

There was an early video game/pinball combo called "Granny and the Gators", but it isn't much fun to play, so I've never bought one.

One other pinball on my want list is called "Surf 'n Safari" and has a cartoon gator on a water slide on the backglass and a toy gator on the playfield.

There are some pictures of them at the link below. Be sure to scroll down to see them.

So what are your favorite collectibles?

Bryan
I to collect tons of croc stuff.
Of course books and skulls are my favorites but I don't consider those collectables.
I love the New Guinea croc head canoe prows. Reptile Gardens has an awe inspiring gift shop and they sell lots of these. I have several hand carved crocs from Africa also.
Of my croc coins my favorite is from India it's silver about the size of a 50 cent piece and it is of a gharial. Exquisite.
And then of course the really bad reptile movies and subsequent promo posters.
Fine croc tshirts you can't have to many of in fact when forum members go over seas and visit exotic croc farms I wish they would bring back tshirts. I for one would make it worth their while.
