Baby Box Turtles

Simply Snakes Jul 21, 2003 03:41 PM

Hello,

Hopefully someone will be able to answer this question for me. I am curious as to determine the visible differences between a Florida box baby and a Ornate box baby? And also, the legalities of the sale of them... where legal and not legal. Thanks.

Baby Florida box turtles will have a medial keel. This is a raised ridge that runs down the middle of the carapace (top shell) from head to tail. A baby ornate box turtle will not have one at all.

Best of luck,
