It's a Ratsnake. I'm guessing a Black Rat/Texas Rat intergrade. Very nice.

Good call steve. I was thinking black rat but the color didn't match even for an extremely abnormal juevenile. I didn't know texas rats went that far into Oklahoma though. Although that is basically all it really could be....IMO

Looks like a pure Tex rat to me. It's actually pretty bright-colored compared a lot of the pure Tex rats I've seen.

I'm actually more southern than central oklahoma(about an hour/60 miles south of okc) ...it was found on a rocky part, semi wooded area of land.Underneith a piece of metal...there was a mouse under there with it.I held it today it looks like it could tame up into a nice pet.I've been reading up on how to take care of it,or deciding if i should just shoot some photos and let it go being its winter>any suggestions?i'll post some pics of mee holding it in a few...the descriptions are right on rattles tail, heads for a direction, doesnt strike much

I am going to have to go with Texas rat snake also.
The fact that you can handle it without much trouble is a plus.
Good luck with it.
