wow, pottstown, pa. thats not far from where i live, less than two hours, ive been there a few times. my first question... what was that kid thinking? did he not kno that it was a copperhead? i have taken many herps into school and i know first hand how people act when they seem them, they are loud, crowding, and most want to touch, that may be fine for a social ig that has been a trustworthy pet for years but not for a wild caught copperhead! *sigh

Is it just me or has it gotten worse in the past few months with snake bit problems?
I just don't understand people's thought process (or lack there of) sometimes! My wife worked nights at a resturant, one of the other servers found a copperhead outside in the bushes. He thought it was neat so he took it to show everyone. He had it by the back of the neck but it was still thrashing around. You could see the fangs and it looked like there was venom that dripped out some. Thank God no one got bit, but if he had dropped it no good could have come from it!
The sad part is that they will probably count it as a pet snake incident. And of course everyone blames the snake for it!

Seems to be a lot of snake problems down there lately. Nice to see it happen somewhere else (no offense to the wonderful people of PA).
