Thanks! I remembered that book after I saw you'd named your turtle Yurtle. I was set on Squirtle (a Pokemon that I've been fond of for years) & was looking for a "matching" name to go with it.

hehe.. i love all your names itchybear! .. i have two chinchillas named "peek a boo" and "pikachu"... im no good at naming herps.. have any good suggestions for a baby eastern? he looks just like yours. . .

my pets: clown treefrogs, reed frogs, big eyed treefrogs, tiger leg monkey frogs, gray treefrogs, milk frogs, cuban treefrogs, whites tree frog, green treefrogs, squirrel treefrogs, blue webbed gliding treefrog, chameleon treefrogs?, dusky salamanders, tiger salamander, veiled chameleon, box turtles, mud turtle, map turtle, yellowbelly slider, florida softshell, two saltwater tanks, four cats, two chinchillas, and a boyfriend.

I was thinking "Zippy" would be a fun name.

My dad's a minister, so when we got our first turtle back in the late 70's, he named her Church. The name was a reference to John Calvin, who once refered to the church as "a mighty turtle". We had a succession of related names over the years w/ subsequent turtles: Church, Chapel & Johnny.
