Tomatoes??

ineedabath Jul 21, 2003 04:05 PM

Hi, I've had my 2 uro's for almost 3 months now, and I've been feeding them mixed vegetables and lettuce.

I was just wondering if uro's could eat tomatoes, and if tomatoes are healthy or unhealthy for uros. I'm not talking about the tomatose the size of your fist, but rather, the cherry-sized tomatoes, called "Cherry or Grape" Tomatoes. A relative suggested it to me because he feeds his chameleon these and he says his chameleon loves them.

I just wasnt sure if they were OK for uros..

((If it matters at all my uros are both nigerian/sarahan, and are both around 1 year 3 months))

THANKS

As far as I know tomtoes are not a good idea for Uros. The acid level is to high. For treats give melon or a grape instead but only in moderation. Happy herping!

no. tomatoes are VERY high in phosphorus- a calcium binding mineral. your uro could even die.
