i researched beardies before i got my leo and i would say that leos would be a more practical pet. i say this because while beardies are charming, they do require more space than leos, a 40 gallon tank would be the minimum for an adult beardie. also, while leos eat mainly insects, beardies require not only insects but a variety of nutritious veggies as well. they require UVA and UVB rays from special bulbs you need to buy as well as a basking lamp to achieve a basking site that reaches 100 degrees. leos are simpler in their needs stemming from these facts: they are small, carnivorous, and nocturnal.
