HANDLEING HELP!!!!

sandfireman Jul 21, 2003 04:08 PM

I got a new cal. king about a week ago. He eats fine and comes out of his hide box so im happy with that. But the thing that i have trouble with is handleing him. Today is the day that im clening the snake cages but i cant get him out of his cage so i can empty and clean it. When i open the sreen lid he starts shaking his tail and cornering himself. I put a container in there hoping he would slither in and then i would close the lid but so far it isnt working. Any tricks on getting snakes out of cages. Im tired of stressing him and myself out when im trying to get him out of his cage. oh yeah, he is about 3 foot long. thanks for the help, chri$

Gloves. At least until you and he have established a routine and gotten used to each other.

Just grab him and take him out, worst he can do is bite and it does not hurt unless you have a huge king, and yours is pretty normal sized.
