Successful Mating.?.?

drew01833 Oct 24, 2005 02:59 PM

Last week I introduced my male veiled into the female's cage. She was rather passive and only a few minutes after turning my back I saw this...
After an hour or so she chased him out and started showing her gravid colors...
This past weekend I tried to introduce the male back into the cage and she was pretty clear that she wasn't interested, gaping and showing gravid colors again.
My question is how reliable of an indicator of successful mating is this? Should I plan on her laying in next few weeks or is it only a possibility?

Shes definetely gravid. I too just recently mated two of my veileds and have had success after the first try. But for future reference you should be placing the female into the males cage, not the male into the females.
