Okay, I made a mistake, now what?

Bezzerra Jul 21, 2003 04:16 PM

I was unaware until today that pinhead crickets were actually the size of a pin's head- don't laugh- it's been a rough week.

I ordered them on Tuesday of last week and they still hadn't gotten here so I emailed wormman.com to ask what the hold-up was and Donna said they had been put on the truck today at 10 am (after she received my email about it). So it's too late to change the order. I went to another cricket breeder and paid a bundle to have 1/4" crickets delivered next day air but I still have pinheads on the way (I still have to pay for them even though wormman.com forgot my order and shipped them 6 days later)

Do you care for pinheads the same way that you do for bigger crickets or is there something special I need to do? How long will it take the pinheadds to grow big enough for my 7 week-old beardie to have a feast on them? They will grow, won't they?

lol, it's okay we all have one of those days.

No, you don't have to do anything special for the crix to raise them up.. just keep them well hydrated with enough room to grow. In theory, in about two weeks they should be fine.. but it really depends.

Technically the crix are supposed to grow really fast because I got 1/4" instead of 1/2" and was told in a few days they would reach that size by the previous cricket supplier I used to deal with... well two weeks later they were not even close to 1/2" so who knows. Though I did keep them at cooler temps and not in the 80's so that is probably why for me.

Just keep them clean, warm, and lots of food and water and they'll get there!
