I have my first corn snake, too, and fed it it's first pinky today. I put it in a smaller container to eat. It nosed it, then bit it, then curled up on it and sat there for about 15 minutes. I reached in with my hemostats and moved it around, towards the snakes nose. He seemed interested. Once I got the head near his mouth, I left it there, and he finally took it! Didn't look like it would fit, but he stuffed it down. Are you feeding F/T or live?

Try pricking the pinkies head with a pin till blood comes out a little. Then hang it in front of the corns face. If he still doesnt take it then tease him a bit, knock the pinkie gently against the corns body. He should become irritated and strike. Dont panic, hatchlings sometimes refuse food but keep trying. Make sure he has a secure hiding place and dont handle him too much for the first few weeks.
I hope this helps.

When I got my first corn snake it didn't eat for over a month. It was a baby, and I wasn't sure that it ever had eaten. We tried to feed it every five days and then found out that they will also eat anoles (a small type of lizard). I bought one of those and she ate it right away (after a month of not eating). Then we started scenting pinkies by rubbing them on an anole and she ate them then we fed her just pinkies and she eats like a pig now and is growing like crazy.

Some snakes won't eat immediately after being moved. Give it time. Be patient. Good luck.

You can try this...(I did this with my ball python when he was younger...)
Try feeding live at first. Put the baby and the pinkie into a deli size cup w/cover and airholes and leave together in a dark quiet place overnight. If he doesn't eat it by morning, freeze it and try it thawed in a week. Sometimes they just need time to settle in to their new home. You can also try braining, which is piercing the skull of the pinky with something small, like the end of a paperclip, and expressing some brain matter. This sometimes works, too. Also, when you defrost you can try defrosting it in warm chicken broth. I have never tried this myself, but have heard it recommended by alot of people, so it's worth a shot.
Let us know when it eats!! Good luck.
