so does everyone have a breeder room, quarantine room & main??

garycrain Oct 25, 2005 08:39 AM

Ive got my main room and a quarantine, but since ive been dropping temps Ive realized i have alot of stuff I dont want going off feed if I can help it.

Do you cycle everything anyway to get them use to having seasons? Do I need another room?

But I've two racks in the main room; breeder & non-breeder on different thermostats.

Im keeping the heat tape at 95 on the non-breeders, but Im worried about the 75degree drop at night.

My house is usually sitting at 75 degrees so all I do is drop the temp on my breeders rack at night. Like stated above I have a main room (bedroom) and quaranteen is my living room.

i think 75 is just too low. i hear lots of breeders do go into the 70's during breeding season. staying right around 80 i feel RI is not as much of a threat

Hey 95 is getting a little close to too hot. you might want to run it more at about 87-89, especially if you havee them in tubs where it is tough to find a cool spot. but 75 at night will be fine for all of them, it will keep the "seasons" more natural. You wont cause any harm at all to healthy animals, if you have sick ones, you might not want to drop it as much though.
