AMAZING SHELL INJURY PICTURES

PATMAN Oct 25, 2005 01:43 PM

Here are some pictures of my new red eyed female box turtle. I received her along with the male who I posted pictures of earlier.

At one point in her life she suffered a severe shell injury. As you can see it has healed completely but has left her scarred for life. She is a LTC and the previous owner said she had the injury when he received her. Who knows how it happened, maybe a car or wild animal?

It amazes me just how turtles and other animals can survive such severe injuries and heal themselves. I was told she has laid eggs in the past with successful hatchlings being born. I hope to do the same in the spring with this special girl who's a true survivor!!!

That is an amazing shot and testament to the resiliency of these animals.

It really is astounding to see what they can withstand.
She's a beauty.

Is this the one that was being sold with a male here in the classifieds? If so, they were both quit attractive. She's an amazing girl!
