Help!!! Wild baby snapper

sarahruss Oct 25, 2005 04:29 PM

I found a 2 inch long baby snapper far away from any permanant source of water. It has rained alot lately and he seems to have been washed away from his "birth" place. It is getting very chilly and I'm wondering what to do with him. Should I release him? Keep him over the winter? What should I do? Any advice please! Thanks in advance.

the best thing for him is to release him back into nature as close to where you found him that has immediate water, even if it is a small stream.

OK, but there is only a puddle of shallow water there from the last rain storm. Will that be enough?

Thanks!

find the closest permanent body of water from there. that will be the best place for it.

Thanks for the advice, I released it in a little pond near my house. Thanks again!
