I would have to say "pneumonia" brought about by miscalculated or accidental chills or cold spells.

Pneumonia in snakes manifests itself mainly (there are others but this the most clear sign) by constant drooling from the mouth how do you recognise it in crocodilians and are the symptoms and treatments (rising heat etc similar) ?????????.
