Orange coloration???

quazyboi Jul 21, 2003 06:05 PM

Hi...I have a bearded dragon now for 4 months and hes just a regular one i think. The thing thats concerning me is that recently my bearded seems to have orange scales under his beard and his front two arms seem to have orange scales also. Is that a sign of sickness or is it just because my bearded has a MIX in him? Can someone help.....

thanks - quang

probably nothing to worry about.

coloration can come and go. some dragons take a year to get their color, others are born with color that fades over time.
I have one dragon that looked like he was turning yellow but it turned out to be discolored shed. I have some germans that when fired up have some beautiful orange in their beards.

Even normals will display color from time to time, all beardies were normal at one time The brightest colored normals were bred together to create the many colors we have today, but the genes for colors are in all beardies. My normal has nice bright orange ears.
