Breeding size?

charismasuicide Oct 26, 2005 03:38 AM

Just a matter of curiosity, I know snake sexual maturity is relative to size rather than age. I've done my best to plunder google, but I can't find any data on how large a corn snake should be to reproduce. Just a rough age estimate.

What proportions should one's cornsnake be before attempting to breed?

Around 32" is what I have heard. 3 years is the best rule of thumb to go by. I have heard 2 years but 3 is much safer. I'm not sure on the ideal breeding weight.

My recommendations:

Males 24"
Females 36"

These would be minimum sizes for snakes with good body weight.
