The only ones I have seen for sale here in SE Asia are bred in Indonesia. Maybe one of the big Indonesian exporters can send them to the US; they have to know who is breeding them.

Well i lived in Indonesia for almost 2 years(1999-2001) and i bought one of my iguanas there. The typical Indonesian iguana (adult)is brown, not very beautiful. The green one from South America is far more beautiful than that dull brown Indonesian iguana.I dont know which red iguanas you are talking about. When i lived there i saw plenty of native iguanas all of them were dull brown.Godzilla (my Indonesian iguana) became red, really red/dark orange during breeding season only and he became also soooo wild and aggressive i adopted him out.He destroyed my fingers and my tennis shoes trying to bite my legs!

There were 2 red iguanas listed in the Kingsnake classifieds under lizards... for $500 and $500 or best offer.

i contacted fluker farms and they said they do not sell animals to people direct and then said to try pets supply plus , petco and pets mart, well ill guess ill go to these pet stores and ask if they can get them in, im willing to pay 100 dollers and i think thats even a little over priced

HerpGirl Oct 27, 2005 07:12 AM

i think the ones i saw at petco were 100$

Actually PetCo is where I got my "red" iguana this week for $99 (Memphis, TN). They had 3 and all looked pretty healthy. However, 2 had small (and I do mean small) "scabs" on their bottom jaw at the mouth. Naturally I got the one without the "scabs". Took him to the vet this AM and he is parasite free and appears to be healthy. He's also very nervous right now so he's being left alone for the rest to the day so he can calm down.

The one I bought is about the size of the red ig the guy in the classified section is selling for "begining at $500".

BTW, I named the little fella "Nim" (if you watch "Surface" you will understand).

OK, I finally got around to taking Nim's pic so those who haven't seen the "red iguanas" that PetCo is selling can have a look at one.

Don
