Caution on Mail Order food for Geckos

solaric Jul 21, 2003 06:41 PM

I am sure this is an old topic but since I have only had geckos for a couple of months this is the first time it has happened to me. I ordered 1000 mealworms and they were shipped via USPS priority mail supposed to be two to three day delivery. Well as I learned today the Post office only considered the 2 or 3 days a suggestion at best. They took 6 days to deliver and after the worms set in the heat for 6 days of shipping they arrived quite dead.

I only live 30 miles from the State Capital so I am not way out in the boondocks or anything. They just delivered slooowwwww. Just a word of caution to be sure what delivery mechanism is used for your live shipments and make sure it has a guarantee of some sort or you may have my same problem with dead delivery.

Normally, the supplier uses a specific delivery system. I ordered 250 waxies from Wormman and they arrived (by fedex I think?) 4 days after the order was placed....if you don't like the shipping, then just try a different supplier.
