not aggressive that i noticed, but i kept them by themselves and they will eat things that fit in their mouth. good pet, but like all amphibians should not be handled. i kept mine in plastic containers about a foot wide and a foot and a half long. i used airpowered sponge filters and whisper 10i and the whisper is much better. i kept the water low (3-4" so they could get air easily, and get the pellets easily. i fed sinking carnivore pellets by hikari, they usually float for a few seconds and the axolotls would grab them before they even sank. i loved them and will probably get them again in the future. no heat or light, low light is alright for your viewing pleasure provided there are ample hiding spots, which you should have either way. mine loved the 2" pvc joints i gave them.

See www.axolotl.org and www.caudata.org for lots of axolotl information! They make great pets. I personally have a whole herd.

For the person with a whole herd, do you have any calico's?

Pictures? Thanks

Ian

By calico I assume you mean harlequin or piebald. No, these are exceedingly rare and hard to come by. And when you do see them, they're pretty expensive. Right now I'm working on breeding a light-colored (not black) melanoid line.
