Long Tailed Grass Lizard Care?

Grunngg Oct 26, 2005 09:58 PM

Hey, I was thinking about getting a Long Tailed Lizard and was hoping you guys could tell me how to care for them. I look for info on random sites, but I still like to get direct information from people who have kept them. I have a 12x12x12 tank. Is that big enough for one or two?

that might work but it would kind of be the minimum. longtails are, in my opinion, one of the funnest lizards to watch. unlike most of the geckos who never move, they are extremely inquisitive and are always walking/climbing around. instead of jumping to get on things they will balance with their tail and stand on their back legs and reach up with their arms(front legs) like an iguana would. they are just so neat. they are really easy to breed too and as for sexing, males have larger heads and hemipenal bulges. they dont need very high humidity, around 70% tops. as for temps, try a basking spot of about 90-95F. i guess thats about it . have fun.
