Philips Colortone 50?

scrapulous Oct 26, 2005 10:05 PM

Do any of you recommend this light for UVB? Is it a tube light, or a bulb?

I prefer a bulb for UVB if possible since I already have the round dome, but I don't have a hood. I've been using a bulb that says Philips Colortone and it's blue, but I don't know how old it is and how long it has been used, so I want to replace it.

Chances are it has absolutly no uvb. Phillips colortone are just regular bulbs that you can get in different colors.

If you have a large enough cage and want to stick with your dame use mercurey vapor bulbs. If you dont want to spend the money on one of those or you have a smaller cage then you should try to get zoo med 10.0 florecent bulbs .

Okay, so does Petsmart or Petco sell these? I was looking at PetSmart today and I don't think I saw these, but maybe they were out?

Gwen,

You can order the newer 10.0 compact florescent bulbs online or by phone and have them shipped to you.

Good luck.
