I feel so bad for my one BD. I have 2 but one is hiding under a rock cause he is in brumation. The other one is lonely and sleeps beside the rock. Poor thing.

I have a question for you wonderful people. Is it normal for bd to stop eating crickets?? I first gave them crickets and then started giving them the superworms. Now that is all they want and no crickets. My kitchen is chirping crickets!!! If they aren't going to eat them I am going to let the crickets go. What is the answer????

Thank you in advance. You guys always help me out.

i have had that problem but not with bd. i had some green anoles that i gave mealies too and they refused crickets. i also gave a moth to my knight anole and thats all he wanted. i just waited them out. it sounds tough but if you only offer greens and crix he will take them eventually.

yeah...if you stop feeding them supers, and just feed them salads for a week, they should go back to crix.

FYI...You probably shouldn't feed to many supers to BD's. a couple here and there is ok. BDs don't chew too well and the shell on supers is very tough and hard to digest. If you are feeding them like 10-20 a day...which is what most people do who buy them in bulk ...you are in danger of impactation. Isn't so hard to resist the price of buying 1000 supers on the net as opposed to buying them at a pet store?

Offer them a wider variety of things other tahn crickets. There are other worms you can try and many healthy veggies and fruit.

In the mean time, go through you crickets and Kill all the males. They are the chirping culprits. Also if you give your crickets more healthy food to eat, they tend to shut up while eating.
