I think I may have hatched something special!!!

JimmyTheTwin Jul 21, 2003 07:39 PM

I had a baby hatch 2 days ago and it has 2 solid lines going all the way down its back. It is like where the spots normally are, but they have connected 2 make lines down each side all the way to the formation of the tail. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I think I remeber a post on the classifieds a while back about someone selling striped beardeds. Does anyone know how I can get into contact with this person. I am very curious to find out the rarity and worth of this awesome dragon. I will have pics soon, but i dont have any yet. If anyone knows the person who had the striped beardeds please let me know who it was! Thank you
Jimmy

also, Leaping Lizards in MO have had several clutches, interestingly the parents are not striped and if you breed two strips together, the babies are all normals.

Below the picture is the URL to Leaping Lizards, if you go to their "gallery" or "projects" you will see many stripe clutches

I was looking through their website, and i was wondering what ever happened to the midnight bearded dragons! Also, how much do these sell for with good color and a littlem better strip then yours?

I have a couple that have color lines. The pattern it self isn't strips, just two orange stripes.
I know it's not the same thing you are talking about but I like them both.

I'm still hopping to hatch one out my self.

a bunch of hatchlings with perfect zig zags down their backs, by 1 month old the zig zags had blended in. I don't know about stripes though, I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet, they change color a lot as they grow

I've gotten a couple that look just like that out of the egg, but as they grow and shed, more patterning comes out.
Here is a photo of one that had the "pinstripe" solid out of the egg--after one shed it is starting to break up. I kept one from an earlier clutch that did the same, and it kept breaking up more and more with each shed--still three "stripes", just patterned up.
Sales wise, I hadnt noticed anyone more interested in stripes vs pattern.
It would be interesting if those actually stay solid striped.

This one held the solid center stripe for longer, but 2 more sheds and he's pretty much patterned out too.

You have such nice looking babies, I sometimes spent hours on your site looking at them..... LOL I know everytime you change pictures!

The dragon I bought has parallel stripes down it's spine though not as straight and distint as those posted above.
