My daughter is interested in turtles. I’m curious about habitat and ease of maintenance and if there is such a thing as an aquatic turtle that doesn’t get large - allowing one to keep it in a 10 gallon aquarium.
Need help - Thanks

There are no turtles that are easy to care for. They are a high maintenance pet. And they can get pretty expensive too. A lot of equiptment is needed for your turtle to stay healthy...filter, uvb bulbs, basking lights/basking spot. etc.
And there are no turtles that will be able to live in a 10 gallon tank all its life. Muds and musk turles stay relatively small. I still wouldn't keep them in anything smaller than a 55 gallon tank. Souther painted turtles and spotted turtles stay small too, but a 55 gallon should be minimum for them too.
A rubbermaid container works great. Not as nice as glass tank but they do the job and are just a fraction of an aquariums price. Good luck....
