Beardie Age

mbgirl17 Oct 28, 2005 08:46 AM

Hello, Iam new to this forum but not new to beardies. I have had mine for about 9 years now and he is still very active and loooves to eat. I got him when he was 1 month old with a female that the man did not tell me was from the same clutch till later on. I sold her but kept my baby. I have a beardie book that I bought when I first got my little guys. It says they have a life span of 6-7 years. Does anyone else have a beardie this old? After the 6th yea I kept expecting him to die. Not that I want him to, hes the only reptile Ive actually kept through its whole life. The other was only 2 years...
Thanks for all your help!
Steph

Anything that I have read says that BD's live 7-10 years but I read on a website of a guy in Australia who had a 20 year old BD!! YES...TWENTY!!!!!
A BD's diet and husbandry in the early years makes a big difference.
