Looking for clear alternative to sterlites for hatchling rack

pinky Oct 28, 2005 01:10 PM

I would really appreciate any suggestions on an alternative (preferrably clear) to a sterlite shoe box. Smaller would be better. I would like to build a rack to move hatchlings up to after deli containers, but I don't neccesarily need shoe box size.
I would think that finding a 5" x 8" reaonabaly priced clear acrylic contianer would be easy, but I have searched the web and stores without luck.

just a thought, but you might be able to use the largest size of ziplock containers. they are not 100% clear but close and deffinately much cheaper then you will find other similar containers.

Sterilite makes a series of boxes called "Clear View" that are as the name implies, clear. They are the 1700 series, 1752, 1754, 1756, etc. The 1752 makes a nice hatchling box.

The 1752 must be the clear view version of the 1952. I suppose they are PVC. I was thinking more on the line of the First Phillips boxes, maybe acrylic. They are more prone to crack I know, but I like the look of acrylic. I think $.75 is reasonable enough for the small Sterlites. Thanks for the suggestions. If I find what I'm looking for I'll post.
