Hey I just got my new burm and I love her to death. She is almost 5 feet long and she is under a year old. I've just been handling her as much as possible. Anyway I have a question. Can you put a heat pad in a custome built enclosure without burning it down?. I use newspaper for substrate and the enclosure is made out of melamine wood. Any help would be appreaciated. Heres a pic and her name is Lilith.

Well I have a custom enclosure and its made out of regular wood painted inside of corse. I use a zoomed heat pad that would definitly burn it down with the whole house too so I made a case for it if you will. I cut 2 peices of lexan and bolted them together using washers inbetween leaving room for the heat pad itself. The result was a heatpad sandwich with lexan as the bread. It does not get too hot to the touch and I use newspaper for substrate also so it doesn't burn him or the paper. I put right in on the floor of the enclosure. Try that!
