MOSS substrate for Pac Man frogs??

jerseyguy Oct 28, 2005 06:37 PM

Can anyone tell me what type of Moss to use for my Pac Man Frog tanks???? I'm using terrarium moss, but it appears to have too many sharp pieces in it that could potentially harm the frogs....Isn't there a softer moss that can be used???

thanks.
P Alan

for pacmans the only commercial thing i would use is shredded coconut bark(eco-earth or bed-a-beast). put paper towels are th ebest. there is no risk of impaction, it is easy for them to burrow into, an dit holds moisture really well, i dont even use a water bowl when i use wet paper towels. they are laso easy to clean and tell whe they need to be cleaned. in my opinion it is the best thing for your frog.

Sphagnum moss is fine for them. I use several inches of Coconut Fiber bedding type stuff, that's it; my frog is buried most of the time!
