my new monitor seems sleepy I have to handle it for several minutes to get it to open its eyes. it is like this all day and night. any suggestions?

my new monitor seems sleepy I have to handle it for several minutes to get it to open its eyes. it is like this all day and night. any suggestions?
it sounds like he is stressed out. make sure that you are housing and feeding him correctly. also, he could have a high parasite load or have a nutritional deficiency. is there a vet in your area?
either way, i doubt that he is "sleepy."

Get a fecal done, and have him checked for worms/ parasites.
They can get quite sluggish/lethargic, not eat, so on when they have them.
Something is certainly NOT right, maybe his previous care was not up to par, these guys usually are not sleepy, and love to EAT.
