Egg Problems

CanadianUros Oct 28, 2005 08:28 PM

I have a sikorae egg incubating as well as two lineatus eggs. My last pair of lineatus eggs cracked so I was extremely excited. I proceeded to help the little guy out and it turned out to be a dud filled with white and yellow slime. I then thought I would help out the other little guy. It turned out that it wasn't ready to hatch. It was fully formed and alive when I broke it open but had near half of the yolk left to absorb. It later died. Why did it crack prematurly like that. I have never had a problem with the phantasticus eggs. Now my sikorae egg is cracked but nothing hatching, I don't know what to do. Do I wait or proceed to try to help this one as well. Uroplatus are my passion and I would hate to loose another juvinile. Thanks in advance Ryan Beitle

if you are worried check on it. my question is at what humidity do you keep your eggs at and do you fluctuate the temps and humidity? sometimes that helps. also did the egg get wet in any way? hopefully the baby comes out ok.

ive had some of my eggs crack too, but with different species. dont get your nose too close, but try to get a whiff of them. if they smell bad they've gone bad. but yea you gotta be sure to just wait a good long time for them to do their thing.
