Possible RI....Any Advice?

catnipcutie Oct 28, 2005 11:02 PM

I have a 12 foot burmese python. Today when I picked her up a watery substance came oozing out of her nose and dripped onto the floor. Then it was bubbling out of her nose. She is not wheezing or acting strange other than that. Could this be a possible respiratory infection?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Sure sounds like it. Granted I'm no expert, but I would get her to a good Herp vet and up her temps in the mean time.

Greetings, please don't consider this condescending, but you know she also could have just taken a big drink of water before you picked her up?

I would be suspicious certainly, but I would check my floor temps and watch her for a day or two before I commited to a visit to the vet? As you mentioned she outwardly appeared in good health with the exception of the fluids she discharged when you handled her?

Likewise, if a trip to the vet is what you determine to be the most prudent course of action the more information you can secure through observation the better chances of a good diagnosis from the vet.

Just my opinion.
