Hi all.
I have a male Northern Pine (14 months old) who stopped feeding 10 weeks ago, before this he never missed a feed. Today I tried him with 3 rat pups and got a result, he took 2 of them but left the third. Whats concerning me is that he seemed to struggle opening his mouth to get the rat pups in, it looked like it was a big effort for him to open his mouth wide. I looked in his mouth when he was eating and there are no signs of infection etc, inside his mouth is normal. He as lost a bit of weight over the last 10 weeks but he isnt lathargic in any way, he is just as active as he as always been. Looking back through my records as shown he hasnt shed for 4 months were my female pine who is the same age as the male as shed 3 times.
Would really appreciate some feedback on this, am I worrying over nothing or is this the norm with male Northern Pines.
All my other Pituophis snakes are feeding and shedding as normal. Temperature in the vivs are between 78/82.
Thanks.
