My little jewel!

Does anyone use plain old under-tank heaters? Have you had bad experiances with them? Mine seem to be working fine, I have the small ones(4 by 6) and there partly under plastic boxes. There not overheating at all.
Please let me know,
Dave

Great looking snake. I had 2 - zoo meds on 2 different tanks and threw both in garbage they would heat up to insane levels or simply not heat at all even in cool days.
They were erratic. I replaced them with cobra and love them consistent great heat not burn heat but good belly warmth heat.
I do like zoo meda bulbs and light domes but not their UTH.

Great mine are zoo-med! I'll be switching to cobra soon.
Thanks

I have heard the new zoo meds are better more consistent not crazy glass cracking hot so just feel the temp with your fingers and you will know if they are good many seem to like them.
Zoo meds are made to run 10 to 12 degrees give or take above room temp so even that wasnt for me as I needed more heat while Cobras run consistently warm but safe even to hold.
My particular zoo meds which were the models from 6 yrs ago temp wise were all over the place way to hot or not on on cool days again the new types I read better.
