I'm so lucky (texas long nosed)

eatinmachine Oct 30, 2005 09:28 AM

I bought a texas long nose I have been eyeing at a reptile show from one of my favorite dealers (got a lot of animals from him. I have posted about the setup and found from mike fezden (sorry if I spelled it right not a lot of sleep tonight) it is right. Well I bought him as a baby for 25 dollars originally 35 (he bought it for 15 and has some of the non feeders he is sellin for that price)I think he didn't make much profit as he has fed it for about 3-4 months. Whatever I'm rambling to the reason I'm lucky. A lot of these guys only eat lizards or stuff like that I bought mine eating live pinks or small fuzzies and I one day when my baby sand didn't eat it's pink (like usual) I threw it in with him after he had already ate and he grabbed up that pink which was F/T. He is just eating F/T and when I feed him I can barely open his container before hes at it.

From what I could make out in your post you got your longnose eating mice?

I have 2 specimens right now.... Not taking mice, nor taking f/t lizards. They are going away soon...

Congrats.

I bought him on live rinks or small fuzzies and offered him a frozen thawed and he took it. I fed him yesterday and barely opened the container I had put him in and he was trying to eat already. This is now one of my favorites. I might get some more if they are eating something I have a supply of. Can you breed these in captivity? Well more do people breed these in captivity and how do you and what would the babies eat?

Pretty sure babies would want lizards. I think Dan bred longnose snakes this year....
