Climbing?

jasonw Oct 30, 2005 10:29 AM

Hi, I just gave Kirmy and Alberto a couple new houses to replace there old ones, I was looking at the enclosure and all that is in there is a water dish and 2 houses, I was thinking to top it off I would put a nice branch in there for them to climb on, now here is the problem. I have read in the past that having a lot of stuff to climb on is good and helps to keep the lizards muscles working and healthy. Leopard geckos to me dont seem like the climbing type and puting somthing like this in there almost seems like a hazard. I have spent manny hours watching them and they realy dont seem to care to climb on top of the houses or anything so my question is do you think its a good idea do give them a large branch or somthing to climb on?

Some Leos are climbers other just aren't interested in it. Leos aren't the most graceful climbers either LOL Just make sure if you do put something in for them to climb on, that it isn't any higher than the Leos are long. That way if they take a dive they shouldn't get hurt

A couple of mine like to climb, I have a low angled brand in their enlcosure that is fairly wide. My albino is always climbing it in the evening.
