that when I was living in Miami, they were available at most of the farms in the Cuttler Ridge/Florida City/Homestead area.
If you are not close enough, don't speak spanish and/or not feel comfortable in that part of town, maybe you can make some friends with the tons of other breeders in that area and they can hook you up with the reabbits whenever you need them.
At these farms you can get the chicks for a quarter, or the good sized chickens for $4.
The last time I had Burm's, I had 14 and 16 footers and would get 15 pound rabbits in that area for $5 each !!!

Here in Central Illinois, we have amish livestock auctions where rabbits in the 2-5lb range can be picked up for less than $1 if you are patient enough to wait until the latter part of the auction. My 9 foot columbian will cost me less than $20 in feed for the entire year. Not too bad given prices elsewhere.
