helmeted iguanas?

sleepofapples Oct 30, 2005 02:57 PM

im not sure which forum to post this in, since they get lumped in with chameleons, iguanas, and water dragons in most books ive seen.. but does anyone have a helmeted iguana? i think they are also called casque headed lizards, and forest chameleons... ive seen them on my herp list for the store i work at and was considering getting one for myself.. but there isnt a lot of info (or at least, i cant find any) online... any comments on them? difficulty level as far as care goes? thanks in advance!

They are very Basilisk like. Sometimes they are difficult to aclimate and refuse to feed. I wouldn't purchase one from a petstore unless I saw it eat. Live plants and a natural surrounding is a must.
