Pick it out of a hat, it's not important, and I don't even see why you posted that question.
Is that how you picked your kids names (or will, if you ever have any)? Pull the name out of a hat because it's not important?
There was no need for you to be nasty in your reply...if you didn't like the question, ignore it.
Simple enough.
I don't see anywhere that says that this is a Chameleon HEALTH forum.
All of us at some point have posted things that others deem irrelevant....
You are not a moderator, so please don't try to control what others post about.
By the way...did you happen to even notice the posters screen name? "dumbkid"
Obviously the person is young, so names are VERY important, and on top of that younger people are easily intimadated by aggressive posters such as yourself, and being nasty over a simple question may lead to "dumbkid" NOT asking a very important question at a later date.
Next time you notice a post with a title that clearly indicates that it's not about chameleon health....pass on by.
Don't feel the need to be nasty to a fellow chameleon owner, just because you CAN.

hey thanks for sticking up for me like that. that was cool.
Bravo KIM!
Some people on this board need to be drop-kicked from their "high n' mighty" perch.
DK,
Sometimes it takes me months to name my chameleons. Some of their personalities don't come out until they are happily acclimated.
Vitus - (My 3 month old male veiled) Named for the Danish Explorer, Vitus Bering (who discovered Alaska). The first day that this chameleon arrived, I put him in a ficus tree while I finished his enclosure vines.. When I went back to the ficus, I found that he wasn't there anymore. Vitus left his ficus, and ventured into new territory... the room I refer to as "the air-conditioning room." He went underneath the door, and I found him perched on an extension cord. Thus discovering Alaska!
The other 2 veileds that I recieved that day, have not yet been named.
You don't have to be an ass.
If you don't like a post find a different one.
I think Ramses is a good name, they even look egeptian to me.
How about: Zeus, Apollo, Hogan, Thor, Othello, Cicero, Stitch,
Jesse, Bailey, or even Elvis
thank you for your suggestions. i think i'll name him Hank. haha. thats a good name.
...it was my Dad's, short for Henry (I never did understand the Hank/Henry thing LOL!)
Personally I think names ARE very important - and hurray to Kim!
I struggle, get creative, use meanings, personality, etc. when naming any of my buddies. I even have a folder in my Chameleon Bookmark for NAMES! I got my three leaf chams May 9th and named Bart (after Bart Simpson - looks just like him!) early and was going to change it but it stuck. The girls were a different story and I just named them in the past couple weeks:
Makeda(ma-kee-da) is African for Queen of Sheba (sheba wasn't going to cut it!) and she is the queen mother and then Kaiya, (ky-a) which is Japanese for Forgiveness b/c she is the least tolerant of me so I am hoping she'll forgive when I intrude! LOL!

NAMES - LOTS of them
it's really not necessary though. I just felt that persons post was hostile, and unnecessary.
I think naming our animals is VERY important...even though naming them isn't exactly crucial to the survival of the species or anything like that.
He was just asking advice of a non-urgent matter...and there was no need to shoot him down.
Most of my animals (at least recently) have come already named...Zoe...for instance. But, I just add my own spin to it...calling him "Big Zo", or Zomeister.
We have just added two gerbils to our zoo this past week...and it didn't take me long to find names for them!
One is Gladys Kravitz, (aka: Mrs. Kravitz). Anyone remember Bewitched, and the NOSEY neighbour Mrs. Kravitz? Well..thats my little gerbil! NOSEY!!!
The other one is Mary Anne, as in Gilligans Islands Mary Anne.
She's always running after Mrs Kravitz grooming her, and generally being the nurturing one of the pair...just like Mary Anne on Gilligans Island.
I never take name my animals lightly, and would never consider just tossing random names into a hat. I care about them more than that....

Or name him Eric! "Screw you guys, im going home!" Or my personal favorite, Towelie. "Dont forget your towel!" "You guys wanna get high?" Lol, love that show.
I like Zaceuss and Ramses. Good choices.
The people of Yemen are Islamic. You could 'Americanize' your cham by giving it an American name, but I've chosen to respect it's country of origin and I gave my cham the Islamic name Salam which means peace. If you watch the news, this is a time when we need to respect other cultures and people.
Here's a site of Muslim (Islamic) names. http://www.muslim-names.co.uk/
