NICE JOB, RC!

Just checked-out your cage construction page. Excellent work. I enjoy making (and looking at) enclosures that mimic natural habitats and you've done an admirable job! Looks like your hoping they'll breed with the "Honeymoon Hut" you've installed. I'm sure it will be successful. D. tinctorius is a good, hardy, colorful, and "Big" (for a dart frog) species you've chosen for your vivarium. Should be easy to feed small dusted crickets and sweepings instead of culturing fruit flies all the time. D. auratus (green and black) and D. leucomelas (yellow and black) are good species, too. I've noticed D. azureus (stunning blue) has come way down in price since I was a dart frog keeper. You sure you don't want to save just a little longer and get a pair of those? I'm sure they'd thrive in your set-up! Just a thought. Keep up the good work and kudos to your craftsmanship and attention to detail. Your time and hard work will pay-off in the future.

Thanks! When i saw the message title i was thinking what did I do (or didnt do ) now?

I looked at all kinds of darts before I decided on New Rivers. I looked at azureus but was more impressed with most any form of tincs. More colors, they are just dazzaling (sp?). And it seems like most every one has a azureus

But i dont like many darts out there. I like most any tincs, the blue auratus, and pumilo "blue jeans". For the ost part i dont care for the rest What attracted me to darts was the beutiful vivariums and the color of the frogs.

Also i ment to add. Many people like my vivarium (or they say they do). I dont care how well you can make a vivarium, if you made it you know all the little things about it that no one else notices. So if its a bad thing it bothers you to no extent! Like in mine, where the tree fern peices mesh together theres just a little gap that no one notices but me. But thats what happens when you plan and build some thing like this

Amen brother! I'm an artist myself and when I finish a mural, everyone likes it but I'll know where I didn't get the color right or the angle correct. Sounds to me like you have that tempermental artistic attitude. Don't sweat it. It's what pushes us to create the best we can. As your plants grow, the soil settles, and your frogs create their own paths, nooks and crannies, your vivarium will gradually change it's looks several times all by itself. That's the beauty of having a micro-habitat... if you've done your homework properly, it will seek it's own operating schedule just like in nature. Enjoy!
