Midsleep drink or middrink sleep

DeanBright Nov 01, 2005 08:23 AM

Hi,
Eve I have enough dead crickets. I haven't been posting because my lizards are sleeping. Normally they poke their heads out during the day. The temp in my house went from the ussuall around 70 to 76 so the got a little more active(still half a sleep). The female even dug up some new land scaping. I saw the male drinking and it looked kind of funny so I couldn't resist a pic. He had actually fallen asleep untill I took the pic. Sorry about the blurriness it looked fine on the camera.

He looks thirsty, Yeah, all of a sudden it has become warmer here too. He looks good Morgan, glad your brumation is going well.

Keep us updated on how it's going ! Nice to have you chime in from time to time, even if they are asleep

Howdy folks, I've been lurking rather than posting, Bonnie and Clyde have both slowed down. Though I haven't started brumating them as of yet, they aren't hungry at all the last week or so.

Funny story about Bonnie, yesterday I checked on them and I placed her close to the waterdish. I fished out 3 crickets that committed suicide rather than be eaten and added freshwater to the dish. This got Bonnie's attention and I moved my finger around in it and she decided to take a very long drink. Well I went into the kitchen and came back out and she had fallen asleep in the water dish. I removed her placed her under the lamp and she scampered back to her sleeping spot.

I am currently waiting on the local pet store to get the proper light in so I can finish getting them ready for the short or long sleep. As I will be hovering over them as my Bearded Dragon never did brumate over the winter.

Don't worry I should be posting more pics soon. On Saturday I'm going to a reptile expo in Eugene, OR, and plan to come home with a new addition to the reptile collection(I'm not telling what it's going to be either)
