A few questions

Hello i`m new to Rainbow boas, but i really think they are beautifull and would like a pair.
I was just wondering if it is the female that gets bigger than the male, like in almost all boids. And what is the maximum size for a Rainbow boa?
Thanks a lot
Jonas

Jonas,
...Yes, the females get larger than the males. Most adult females are 6 to 6 and a half feet long. Most adult males are 5 and a half to 6 feet long. These snakes do most of their growing in the first five years and grow very slowly after that. There are reports of BRBs over 8 feet long being imported in the past. The largest ones I have seen or had were around 7.5 feet long. The largest Rainbow Boas are Peruvian Rainbows. They usually are not much longer than adult BRBs but are heavier snakes. Like the Brazilian Rainbows there are reports of specimens over 8 feet long.
