I'll wait until you guys fill me in. Don't want to wear you out with duplicate pics...

this forum is usually dead. no one really posts pictures here because they all get posted on the main forum where youll get much more viewers. theres no sense to post them on both as if someone is going to check here they most likely have already checked the main page. and genetics or locality discussions that you want specific answers is normaly pretty good to post here (i like the dead forum for more complicated topics like genetics).

Thanks, jayf!
Very much appreciate the response. That was a pretty enlightening thread on the main forum about dominant and co-dominant traits, huh?
I have to say, I thought that the Salmon trait was co-dom until recently!

haha yeah deffinately was interesting. i thought it was co-dom also. after reading that article i think incomplete dominence is the best way to describe it althought that tends to be a confusing term to most people.

I think you're right. I think that whole issue is complicated by the fact that, if you were to argue that salmon was a co-dominant trait and that "supersalmons" were EXTRA red, who defines what "extra red" is? I really don't think there's enough of a visual difefrence to call it something else. With Motleys, there's NO question about the difference between a motley and a super.
About the arabesque trait, though, (from another post) I can't remember who it was, but someone bred two arabesques together and got what they thought were "superarabesques" and some were almost patternless. I'd like to see the whole litter though.
I really like that trait in particular.

if you can find the post or other information about the homozygous form of arabesques i would appreciate it. my only future plans right now are to breed the hypo gene, but i really like the arabesque gene. i will deffinatly get into them if they are a true co-dominant trait like it seems by what your telling me. thank you for any additional information you might have saved or something.
