ribbon snakes?

DragonEmpress Jul 21, 2003 11:43 PM

I've never seen a ribbon or garter snake in any pet store around here except for the one i got my iguana at a long time ago(they sold young ribbon snakes)...Can anyone give me an idea of how much they usually cost in pet stores? i've been doing research on them, but couldn't find very many sites about keeping these snakes in captivity. Does anyone know of any good sites? I have a 55 gal tank and also a 10 gal, would one of them be ok for a single snake?? Sorry i asked so many questions...i love reptiles but i'm new to snakes (right now i have 2 turtles and an iguana). Any info you can give about these snakes would be very helpful, i want to make sure i can give them a good home before i get one. ...mkays, i have one more question Do ribbon snakes mind being handled?? Thank you so much for helping me out!!

Ribbon Snakes usually sell for about 12-15 bucks around where I live (NYC). I keep mine in a 10 gallon tank and doesnt mind being handled too much, as long as you're gentle.
