Hello all, my baby burm is currently eating small mice. I'm wondering if I should switch him over to rats of similar size (crawlers I assume), or to wait until he gets some more size. What experiences have you all had making the transition?

Well I attempted to get him on rats today, got a rat pup, which I thought would be much bigger. Right now he's just sniffing and staring at it, understandable. I'm thinking he's gonna go for the kill once I leave him alone (I thought starting on live rats might make the transition easier). Either way, next week I'll get him a rat fuzzy? I haven't ever dealt with juvenile rats before so it'll be experimentation til I found out what name= what size.

Well literally seconds after I posted that last message I walked back in to see how he was doing... already started swallowing the bugger. Guess he doesn't mind the smell of rats! Just gotta get him on to the bigger ones now.

Congrats....Having a burm that only wants to eat mice is a pita.
