I think that really depends on your male and any other added distractions. I have had males start to show interest immediately after introducing them to the female’s cage. Others it takes a few days to weeks to show interest. Sometimes the only chance you get to see any action is in the night.

All my males are studs, they usually start right away you just gotta know what your looking at. The first few times I witnessed my boas begin courting I didnt think they where doin much of anything cause they werent cloaca to cloaca but that sometimes doesnt happen right away. As long as hes on her squeezeing her and what not Id say hes courting. Also try misting them cause it does work as well as eveybody says. Rich

Sometimes they lay on the other end of the cage....that's NOT courtship and goes along with what James was saying...sometimes you don't get an immediate interest, other times they're riding the female almost upon introduction. As an example, some males are "studs" as you mentioned....I've pulled a courting male dumerils out and he continued to spur/court my arm! On the other end, you have one of James' adult albinos which we've joked about introducing to other males due to his apparent lack of interest in females-LOL! That albino does breed, but he's far from aggressive about it. Take care

Sorry if I offened anybody I was just more less talking out loud about my favorite thing to talk about, my reptiles. I didnt say that James or the first guy who asked the question for that matter didnt know what a courting male boa looked like,I was just puttin in my 2 cents.. Rich

Hey Rich, nobody was offended at all! I just replied because James said sometimes it takes a while, and then your reply to his thread said it was quick, you just need to know what to look for.....so it looked like you just had a conflicting opinion that insinuated James might be missing courtship behaviors unknowingly-LOL, the BIGGEST problem with written conversations is the ease in which things can get confusing! So, keep on talking reptiles, that's what we're all here for, and I look forward to talking to you more about them in the future! Take care
