My hatchling corn recently became stuck to several small pieces of duct tape. I removed the tape per information recived in this forum with olive oil and a q-tip.
In the places where the tape was stuck, there appears to be scale damge.
In some places (on the base of the left mandible) her skin is darkened, a light grayish color (possibly remaining tape adhesive) and in others asymmetries in the scales is visible (there are disrupted areas that appear whitish).
I brought her out to handle and noticed the discoloration. The areas do not appear to be crusty and are not seeping any fluid as with damage to the level of the dermis. The darkened areas appear to be a little dry and are slightly wrinkled. She is firm, moves strongly and frequently flicks her tounge. Two days post accident, she consumed a pinky without any hesitation. It has now worked down to near the cloaca and is visible as a darkened compacted region. She shed one day prior to the accident so her skin was extra fragile.
The bedding is permeated with a small amount of antibiotic agents (Sodium bentonite and propionic acid).
Is there anything I should do other than monitor the affected areas and her overall health and continue to feed her regularly?
I'm assuming that the damage will heal after the next shed.
I can provide pics but not of the damage as she moves to much to get a high res picture.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
