because they are a deal! i got a whole bail of straw hay for 8bucks(HUGE bail, will last me months for substrate) and a big bag, mabe 3' long by 2'wide and like 3" thick, of timothy hay for only like 4 bucks, which woulda cost like 25 bucks from the petshop, whata deal... and bontregar seems to really like straw hay as a substrate in his nighttime/ coldweather enclosure... anyone else had experience with this for ground in their turt cage?>

I have never used that kind, but I do use Bermuda grass from my feed store. It is such a huge savings there. Its 4 bucks for a tiny bale at petsmart, but only 20 bucks for a big bale from the feed store. It lasts through the winter for me and mine eat the stuff like crazy!
