would it be O.K. to get a bearded dragon and not get a reptisun 5.0 at first?? what i mean is, if i took the bearded dragon outside to bask every day during the summer, would i need a UVB producing bulb??? or could i wait a week or two until i get payed??? i am not going to get the beardie yet if they need the reptisun imediately, but if it could wait a week to two i would be able to get one (the bulb). thanx and let me know!

Make sure you have a good calcium supp. WITH d3 and use it daily. I like minerall I, rep-cal is also good.

The sun is better than UVB lighting, it only takes about 30 minutes a day to equal 8 hours of UVB lighting. However, if you can't afford a $20 bulb, maybe you should put off buying a beardie for awhile. New beardies need vet checks for parasites, plus they eat a lot of food, they can be a lot more expensive than you might think.

it's not like i don't have the money, i am just wondering if i could just use the sun until my order comes in??? i ordered my reptisun 5.0 bulbs in bulk, the company takes a while to ship. i was just wondering if i should wait to get the beardie or could i get it now???? thanx for the replies!!!!!

and yes you can use the sun for 30 mins a day until you get your shipment.. but it might be easier just to wait...
