Peruvian Rainbows

Jeff Clark Nov 03, 2005 09:48 AM

...I got some Peruvian Rainbow Boas, Epicrates cenchria gaigei from Craig McSherry. They arrived today and they are BIG babies. They are just over a month old and are 21 to 23 inches long. I will try to post some PICs later today.

I didn't realize Peruvians were that large at that age. That's longer than most BCI.

Chris,
...This is the first time that I have had baby gaigei that I knew the age. The babies I have gotten in the past were big babies but I did not know how old they were. These snakes are several inches longer than some BRBs here that were born the same week and have been eating well. Craig's PICs of the parents look very much like my Peruvian Rainbows. This is one of the new babies.

....and was beginning to think you must not have wanted to post pics because...well, they were UGLY. I realize the error of my thinking. Spectacular! Although I am disappointed none were left for me, I couldn't be happier that you have them. Could you put me on the list for 09? Who knows, maybe I'll get a few before then. 09 seems so far away but it'll probably get here much quicker than I expect.

BTW....I shaved my legs.

Linda,
...It is pathetic that I cannot produce any of these snakes so I buy them from another breeder. I think only a few litters were produced again this year. My largest trio of PRBs seem to have become cage lazy. I will try cooling them down more and keeping them seperated longer this winter and see if that makes any difference.
...I have 31 2005 Rainbow Boas here now and two more (het hypo BRBs) coming soon. This is too many little ones to keep. If I do not get some more BRBs sold I am going to keep about half of these baby PRBs and sell the rest on the kingsnake.com classifieds.
...Shaving is a good first step but you will also need to clean the tobacco stains off the side of your truck.
